Urban Riparian Ecosystems with Natasia Moore
June 17, 2026 | 7 - 8 PMÂ
la Madeleine, 5493 Brodie Lane, Austin, TX 78745
During this presentation, we will explore the urban riparian ecosystem and the important role it plays within our cities. We'll start by exploring why urban riparian areas matter - ecologically, socially, and economically. From there, we'll look at the general characteristics of riparian ecosystems in urban settings, as well as the unique challenges they face as a result of development and human activity. We will wrap up the talk with steps cities and communities can take to protect, restore, and manage these sensitive and valuable ecosystems. This talk will highlight the interconnectedness of environmental health, plants and wildlife communities, and human actions.  Attendees are encouraged to arrive between 6:30 and 7 PM to allow time for ordering food and drinks and socializing before the presentation begins.
